Making the most of your Distress Oxide

Hello everybody!
It's Donna here and I've got a set of four cards to share with you today, all of which use different techniques with Distress Oxides.

I purchased my Oxide Inks from Shop and Crop, and I thought they were the best value I'd seen. You can still order them through the shop, and if you use the code DL5 you can get a further $5 off the purchase price. Today's cards use inks mostly from set 2, but the Worn Lipstick comes from set 1.

Set 1

Set 2

I have combined the Distress Oxide inks with stencils, embossing folders, water, paintbrushes, embossing powder and  stamps to make the following cards.
This first card used an embossing folder first, and the Distress Oxides in Twisted Citron and Peacock feathers to colour the fern leaves, rubbing very gently so that only the raised areas are coloured.
The sentiment was coloured with Distress Oxide and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
This next card is my favourite. I have used an ink blending tool to spread the Peacock Feathers ink, and then spattered and stamped with the same ink.
Next,  I used a stencil over blended inks in Worn Lipstick, Abandoned Coral and Candied Apple. By spraying water through the stencil, I was able to get a soft triangle pattern. I used vellum to help the sentiment to stand out from the background.
I used another piece that I had blended and used the stencil and water on to cut the pieces for the next card. This card has a clean and simple look, despite being covered in pieces, because there is still plenty of white space left.

I'll leave you with some close ups of the cards I created. I'd really encourage you to grab some Distress Oxides and have a play with them, They are really versatile, and can be used in so many ways that it's easy to get your money's worth out of them.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Merry Christmas to all of you, and I look forward to chatting again in the New Year!

A Challenge and a Christmas Card or Two........

Hello there!

Wow can you believe we are into December already!!  So in saying that I have a few more Christmas projects to share with you following on from my last post in November!  I showcased the September Kaisercraft Kit in my last post and have a few more projects to show also using this gorgeous kit featuring Kaisercraft's  Santa's List collection!

First up is my creation for our December Challenge "Show us your Christmas Craft".  I decided on a BTP project for this challenge and altered one of Kaisercraft's Wooden Santa Sleigh's......

I started by painting one side and the edges of the pieces with green paint.  Once dry I picked the papers I wanted on the sides and ends and adhered them down and then sanded the edges.  I then stuck the sleigh together and started the fun bit - DECORATING....

I used some of the pictures from the pull apart specialty sheet, collectables from the kit and then flowers from my stash!  I also added some of the Kaisercraft Wooden Lucky Dip pieces from the Christmas ranges and left them raw.  To finish I sleigh I used some texture paste with glitter added to it, to make the sleigh look like it had snow on it!

Some close ups.......

Next up I have a few cards to share that I made using lots of the left over scraps, some collectables from the kit,  flowers and Kaiser lucky dip wooden flourishes from my stash........ Oh and some Kaisercraft bling, can't forget the bling :)

A couple of close ups.....

A couple of close ups.....

Just a couple more close ups.....

Well that's all from me today.......Be sure to jump over to the Shop and Crop store and check out the amazing kits and products, new kits and fabulous products every month, you won't be disappointed..........
Also don't forget our current challenge "Show us your Christmas Craft" would love to see what you create.
Until next time, happy crafting Tania xx

A Little Fun with the September Kaisercraft Kit!

Hi there!

Tania back with you today to share some layouts I created using one of our past kits - the  September Kaisercraft Kit and if your lucky there may be one or two left in the Shop and Crop Store here.......
With Christmas fast approaching I thought some Christmas layouts would be perfect to share with you all!!

First Up my "Believe" layout.

I did lots of tearing on this layout and even some fussy cutting.  Added a few of the Collectable pieces which you also get in the kit and finished off the page with a couple of flowers from my stash......

Some close ups!

For my next page "It's the most Wonderful time of the Year" layout, I used the gorgeous specialty paper from the kit and again added lots of fussy cut Poinsettia's!  I embellished my page with more collectables from the kit and some Kaisercraft  Lucky Dip Wooden Snowflakes and finished this page also with a few flowers from my stash.

A few close ups.......

My final page I have to share today is my "Love" layout!  On this page I used lots of scrap pieces which I roughly distressed.  I added collectables to this page and a few more flowers from my stash!
