Using up those left over bits of Paper....

Hi All...
We all have that stash of bit of paper, to much to chuck away so we keep hold of them... for "one day" and that day never seems to come and we end up with a huge pile of miss matched papers from lots of companies, left over words and embellishments.
Well today's the day to pull that stash out and use them...

Firstly sort through the papers and find the ones that create a complimentary colour scheme. I went for aquas and yellows for a summery beach layout. My papers come from Cocoa Vanilla, KaiserCraft, Jillybean Soup and a few randoms ( these papers are mostly leftovers from kits)
Once you Have worked out the papers you can put it all together.

Happy Camper

Good afternoon scrappy peeps, today I am sharing my second layout using the fantastic April Crop Kit, chock full of My Minds Eye 'Happy Camper' papers, die cuts, stickers and chipboard stickers. Ihave still so much left over there's another couple of layouts to come for sure....

This is a photo of my youngest son when we visited Wilson's Promontry last month. We went on a walking adventure to locate the ting Yanakie Station Cemetery (there are only 5 bodies buried there). I just love history and learning about it close to home is even more fascinating!

Here are a few close up shots - I adore the die cuts in this set - many of which are seen in this layout. I added some Distress Ink to the edges of the layout and some Dylusions paint splatters to complete the layout and to keep with the 'nature' theme.

I hope you like the layout and will check out the may kit options available in store NOW!

Sunshine - by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters,

Elisa here from the Design Team with my latest share, a beach inspired layout using the versatile, vibrant Studio Glazes by Tsukineko (link to Glazes in shop) and Colour Blast Australia Shimmer Sprays and Pastes.

If you place an order online with Shop and Crop Scrapbooking at don't forget to place your discount code EA5 in the spot provided upon checkout!!

Here is my finished layout -

I have included a few photos to show you how I started my mixed Media Background and how I used the Glazes on Acetate to make my stained glass circles.

Firstly, I grabbed my trusty Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Tangareen Dream and Colour Blast Colour Sprays in Mocha and Carribean. Take the lids off and splatter each colour onto your page by gently tapping the plastic tube where you want your colour to go. I decided to keep mine on the right side of the page and leave some white space on the left. Put aside to dry. Once dry I used a black marker and a wave stencil (use the marker to trace around the waves in the stencil) to add some neat black waves to my design. Then add some Colour Blast Texture Paste in Bling with a dots stencil in the areas that you are going to put your acetate stained glass circles.

So to start I wanted to show you what the Tsukineko  Stazon Studio Glazes look like on paper and acetate but they can also be used on other surfaces including beads, acrylic, glass, metal, wood and other non-porous surfaces. You can use stencils with them and they have a handy pen like feel to them so you can lovely thin lines with them, perfect for creating faux stain glass effect.

Drying times can be lengthy if applying a thick layer, so either use thin layers and a light heat with a heat gun from a distance or you'll have to wait it out...

Shake the bottle before each use and I also gave it a little squeeze to get rid of air bubbles before squirting onto my page. It is not food safe or dishwasher safe so a wipe over with paper towel is all you need if completing ceramic or home decor is also not waterproof so you may need to seal outdoor projects to protect against exposure.

To create the circles i used on my layout, I used two pieces of acetate, i then squirted my chosen colours onto one side and then put the second piece over the top and then you can just smooth and rub over with your hand or use a brayer (lightly). Pull your acetate pieces apart and you get great patterns and texture on your acetate. Dry thoroughly.

Once dry using either circle punches, or circle dies or even just circular objects from around the house (trace around and fussy cut circles out) cut circles out of your acetate in a variety of sizes. Below is a photo of the acetate held up to the light you can see the 'stained glass effect' I just added a little glue to the back of the circles and glued them to my layout.

Here are some close ups of the layout for the finer details and the shine !

Lots of lovely colours in the range of the Studio Glazes at the Shop, head on over and have a look!!

Thank you for stopping by the blog today.

Summer Layout With Anita Bownds

Hi there,
Anita here with you today sharing another layout this week I've gone with a summer theme
Using the colours blue, pink and yellow

I started with white cardstock and trimmed half an inch off 2 sides and backed it with
Blue patterned paper

And machine stitched around the border
Then using some colour blast colour shimmer spray and colour spray I flicked it across the page

Then let it dry before adding my paper layers
And using one of my cut files I added the pink behind the cutfile and popping a blue flower in the centre of it with some cotton threads

you can find my cutfile set here

I used a tab to add the words just us girls
And under that I put my title summer

And I also added a few little stars from the alpha sheet with the flicked colour spray to add
More points of colour

I tucked in a little tag adding a little more colour to the top of the photo

I hope you have enjoyed my layout inspiration this week

Sailor Girl layout with Anita Bownds

Hi there,
Happy Wednesday Anita here with you today
sharing a layout using life is beautiful by fancy pants designs
I must say I really am enjoying playing with this collection as a rule I don't really play with black
but something about bright Colours with it has just got me hooked lately ..
I started with a photo of my daughter Kara dressed in her navy uniform
And the black and white stripes just spoke to me and I had to use it

Along with the floral patterned paper and I decided that yellow black and pink would be my Colours
That I was going to use and I wanted to add my floral cutfile in some way on the layout

you can find my cutfile here

As I wanted the photo to be the focal point of the layout I cut the silhouette cut in half
And add to each side tucking them under the photo layers

I wanted to add a few more followers across the page with rhinestones centers

And to break up the white with little flicks of black using colour blast road base colour spray

And adding another pop of colour with the fancy pants designs alphas

I hope you have enjoyed my layout inspiration this week
