Bonus Layout - My Minds Eye Kit, and Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks.

Hello there,
How is your day going? Right now as I am preparing this post it is cold outside... but hey great reason to stay inside and get some products and do some creating... And that is when the fabulous Kits from SHOP AND CROP SCRAPBOOKING come in so handy...  It is all there ready for you to get creating!!

In my last blog post which you can see HERE!!!  I shared two layouts created using the  MY MIND EYE - In Bloom Kit which you can get at the Shop HERE!!! Well I have created another layout to share with you from the products still in the kit.. These kits have so much product that even though you get the instructions for 2 layouts there is still more creating to be done! So I would like to share the layout I created with you with some simple instructions for you to follow to use some of the remaining product after you create the first two layouts.

Take the In Bloom paper #BKM004 and cut off the bottom identification strip. I always keep these strips. Measure paper 20.5cms from the bottom (to the pink stripe) on the paper and cut off the top.

This is what you start with.
From the Kaisercraft Coconut CD101 cardstock cut 2 pieces of paper 5cms by 30cms. The two white cardstock pieces go top and bottom of the layout. I then got a scrap page  to use as a base (you wont see this) and laid the design down on this and adhered the papers down tucking the white cardstock under the floral paper.
I then got the Kaisercraft cardstock Licorice CD102 and I used a paper punch to cut a decorative edge.. you can tear the paper or use decorative scissors if you dont have a punch to use. I then put these decorative edged papers either side of the rose paper.. #BLM004. This black edge just adds some pop to the layout. You could use some lace or washi tape from your own supplies if you like.
I cut my 10cm by 15cm photo down a bit to 8cm by 11cm or you could even go smaller. I matt the photo on the leftover piece of #BLM004 using the floral side. I then matt the photo again using the black cardstock.. Double Matting a photo really helps the photo to stand out on your layout.. This is what your layout should look like at this stage.

I put some scrap cardboard under my photo to lift it up, foam tape would be suitable to use also.
I put the strip from the bottom of the paper #BLM004 that we cut off at the beginning of the instructions and placed it on the right bottom corner of the page. I then got a chipboard sticker from the chipboard sticker pack "This Moment" and placed it down the bottom of the left hand side.
I then used some stickers from the sticker sheet and some more chipboard stickers to embellish my page.  I used another strip from a different page and stuck it up the top left hand of my page.
This layout is simply designed and embellished as I feel if you have something big and bold on your paper like the rose for example, dont overcrowd the page but let it be a feature. You also dont have your photo trying to compete with it to stand out..  The paper feature and the photo should compliment and balance each other on the page.

Some closer views of the finished layout.
I love these gorgeous little floral chipboard embellishments, they add some dimension next to the gold stickers.

And the finished layout.
I added a little bit of journalling on my layout to finish it off. Remember to check out this kit and all the others over at the SHOP AND CROP KIT SUBSCRIPTION SECTION OF THE SHOP..

A while ago I purchased some DONNA WAKLEY MEDIA SCRIBBLE STICKS from the shop..

Now let me say I am not very experienced with water colors as such but like many of us, I got these to try. Well I did try..  I had a play with them...  They are easy to hold and the colors are vibrant,  I messed around to see how they go onto cardstock, no gesso just cardstock.. and this is what I did..

They blend with water easily. The blue color I drew on the paper and added water to see if I could draw the color along.. and the pink color I scribbled on some clear plastic and added water and make a liquid and patted the cardstock on the color.. this came out lovely..  and then I used a stamp and stamped it around my page..  you know.. just playing...  which is what we should do when we get a new product... just have some creative free fun..
Well then I wanted to see how they go as a water color type product.. I found some really old paper from Rusty Pickle... (what a great name by the way!!!) and just used the stick to draw around on the image and then added water.. my first attempts dont look very good...  but as I played around I was learning how to draw the color into the image and also trying to have light and shade...

This is the dried page, they sure do keep the vibrancy of the color!

So again I confess I am still learning about water color products, but my goodness this was such fun.. I will definately have another play with this wonderful product, I hardly made a dent in the sticks, they will last a long time..  I love how pretty these colors are when dry and my only complaint is that I wish I had more shades to play with!!! You can purchase your DINA WAKLEY MEDIA SCRIBBLE STICKS in the shop HERE!!!  and remember to use this code LC5 to get a discount of your order..

Until next time.. get creating!

Best Friends and Darling Girls

Hello, scrappy friends!

By the time this blog post goes live, I will be comfortably ensconced at Scrap Camp with about 60 other scrappy ladies! 4 days of no kids, no cooking and all the scrappy time I desire! Sounds like heaven on earth to me!

But first, I need to share with you a little bit of random fun I've been having lately. Sometimes its just so worth digging back into some of your old collections/kits, just to see what you can create from the leftovers, or with some new random bits mixed in. The 2 layouts I'm sharing today have come from doing just that!

For my first layout I pulled out all of my leftover bits from Crate Paper's Cute Girl collection, and went to town using up all the chipboard and puffy stickers I had left over.

My daughter is obsessed with unicorns all of a sudden, so this giant unicorn embellishment was perfect!

I love the embellishment clusters on this page, and how even though there is a lot going on, it doesn't seem to busy. I'm also super in love with this title, how good is mixing fonts, so fun!

The second layout I have to share with you is using up my stash of Cocoa Vanilla 'Wild at Heart', this range is such a dream to work with! I actually got all adventurous with this layout and machine sewed directly on to my page for the first time ever! Super proud of myself..

It was so fun and easy to layer up these beautiful papers. I love the chipboard frames that came with this collection, so great to make a focal point of your pics.

I've used quite a lot of the die cut ephemera on this page, but again, I don't think this looks cluttered or too busy at all. I included some random wood veneers around the page to anchor the frame with the rest of the elements on the page. The title again is a mixture of Thickers, some old and some new, and I love the way this ties all the colours and elements of the page in together.

And see, look at that stitching! I think I've reached level #expert! Hehe, I may just have a new addiction.

Thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to sharing with you more of my scrappy fun after camp this weekend!!

Big Loves,
Tam x

'Beautiful' and 'Sweet' by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest layouts for Shop and Crop Scrapbooking

I grabbed out the leftovers from a couple of recent kits which I created (links underneath the photos) for Shop and Crop Scrapbooking along with some other items from my stash.

The first layout below is called 'Beautiful' and uses the leftovers from Expo Kit 3 ( and Colour Blast Shimmer Cube in Sunshine along with Lollipop Colour Blast Shimmer Dusts.

I used the Kaisercraft 'Mandala' Die to die cut the lovely patterned vellum from the kit, plus I used Lollipop Colour Blast Shimmer Dust for my  background ( i also used the leftover liquid to add colour to the butterfly diecut and the feathers) as well as the "Sunshine" Colour Blast Shimmer Cube (which comes in the kit) I painted the chipboard title with the Sunshine Shimmer Cube as well as the inside of the butterfly and feathers.

Expo Kit 3 - Beautiful

And my second layout is called 'Sweet'

This layout is created using the leftovers including the paints, papers and custom made stamp from the June Mixed Media Kit which can be purchased as a one off kit from Shop and Crop -

So to create the background, I used the blue and yellow paints from the kits and a piece of plastic and a small spray of water from a spray bottle and 'smooshed' paint onto the page using a piece of plastic like a sponge. Dry thoroughly then using an archival ink pad and your custom made stamp stamp a strip of graffiti up the page leaving about 1.5 inches on the right hand side border to add your two strips of paper.

After that I used a black marker and a small entree plate and created circles on my page to create a frame for where my photo was to go. Colour some chipboard arrows with your yellow paint and stamp on your chipboard pieces as well. Don't be afraid to add a die cut to cover part of your photo.

Here is the original kit which is available for purchase from Shop and Crop on the below link.

Well that's it from me today, I hope you have been inspired to pull out those old kits and use your leftovers to keep creating....The kits are so chock full of product you can still create loads of layouts with a little help from your stash...

Hello Happy Girl & Let the Adventure Begin

These layouts were created from a past kit and you can find the current kits here in the shop.
I guarantee you wont be disappointed if you're looking for a kit club because the shop has a variety to suit different types of creativity.

I like this sketch a lot and use it when I have three photos to scrap.  I chose the colour that matched my photos in the papers then found a piece of tissue paper to put behind my white cardstock matted photo.  The flamingos and the sticker underneath the photos along with the 'Happy' part of my title were from the sticker sheet.  The Dear Lizzy Brad also went perfectly with my happy little great granddaughter and I loved the addition of hot pink colour of the alpha and asterisks with the turquoise of the papers and the photos.

Now for my final layout using the kit.

The plain cardstock is also part of the kit and I edged it with some of the Patterned Paper.  I balanced the colours by cutting the circles and tags to place diagonally opposite each other.  The wood veneer title and the caravan element were perfect for this layout because we holiday in our caravan quite a bit and often its a big adventure.
I used a background stencil with Colour Blast Paste before adhering my photos and cut aparts.  I loved this kit which also included the cute arrow paperclips I used on this layout but there were many others to choose from.  I also used some of the sticker alphas with the wood veneer to create my title.

If you'd like to try a kit or purchase a subscription you can find them

You can also use my code SS5 to receive a discount from the shop.
