One design, two ways - By Tamara Buckler

Hi All,

As we watch all the new product releases coming out from Creativation, I am on a bit of a kick to use more of what I have to make room for more new products. I guess you could call it a stash bust! I love working with different ranges, and making them come together. And I also love scrapping in different sizes, and this is what I am here to share with you today - taking one layout design and making it work for two different size layouts.

The first layout that I am sharing with you is a traditional 12x12 using the Kaisercraft Christmas range called 'Mint Wishes' and the We 'R' Memory Keepers 'High Five' collection. The design is based around this diagonal line between the two papers and I love the contrast between them.

The floral elements are fussy cut from the Kaisercraft range, and do a great job of softening the lines between the two papers. Quite a few of the embellishments on this page are from Cocoa Vanilla, including the large frame tucked behind the right of the photo.

Most of the alphas used are also from Cocoa Vanilla, combining stickers with Die Cuts is a great way to use up bits and pieces while adding extra interest.

The second page I'm sharing with you today is a 8.5 x 11 page and is using the same basic design element as the first page, in that it has the diagonal line and contrasting papers. The papers used here are from Maggie Holmes 'Chasing Dreams' and Cocoa Vanilla 'Wild at Heart' collections.

I have used a number of Die Cuts from Cocoa Vanilla to again soften the line between the two papers, this time the scale of the embellishments are a little smaller to suit the smaller page size. The frame behind the photo is also from Cocoa Vanilla, and I have DIY'd a frame from some Pink Fresh Studio paper that I have been hoarding (the little birds are also fussy cut from this paper). These frames are flat, rather than the thicker frame on the first layout, so as to not add too much weight to the page.

Again I mixed the alphas for interest and used up some puffy stickers in my stash. I added in some old chipboard from my stash also.

I love the way these layouts turned out, and I hope I have shown how you can use one design, two ways.

Have a great day, scrappy friends!

Big Loves

December Cropaholic Kit - Using the stunning Kaisercraft Wandering Ivy........

Hello there.......

Tania joining you today with my last post for this year, that's a scary thought and to think Christmas is only a few days away, that is exciting though :)
So today I wanted to share with you some layouts I created for our December Cropaholic Kit using the stunning Kaisercraft "Wandering Ivy" Collection, I have to say this is my new favourite collection from Kaisercraft, just love the beautiful tones of Blue and Green, what do you think??  So much jam packed in this kit, I made these three layouts and still had so much left over.

For the first layout the used the gorgeous specialty paper as my base, and played with some of the chipboard and the mist which is in the kit to create a little bit of extra texture on the background!
If you like fussy cutting this kit is just perfect two as there is lots of gorgeous flowers to cut from the patterned papers, which you can see here on the layout below.

A few close ups........

I continued with the theme of adding a little mixed media to this layout too but just used the mist by itself this time.  I also added more fussy cut flowers and some of the gorgeous wood veneers that came in the kit.

More close ups.......

For the last page I added lots of the silver Rhinestone strip bling - who doesn't love a bit of bling?  I added lots more fussy cut flowers to the page too as it just finishes them off perfectly!!

A couple more close ups......

Well that's all from me today.  Be sure to pop over to the store here and check out this amazing kit and all the awesome goodies that comes in it, this one comes with instructions to make all three layouts.  You can also check out all the other fabulous kits and products on offer, you won't be disappointed!
Also don't forget there's still time to enter out challenge for this month - "Show us your Christmas Craft"  a $30 store voucher for the winner.........

Until next time,  a ver Merry Christmas to you all and safe and happy New Year, hope you all get very spoilt with lots of crafty goodness, hope I do lol.

Happy Crafting, Tania xx

November Mood Board and Christmas tags

Hello again! Donna here, and I’m excited to share with you what I’ve made with the November mood board.

I smooshed Distress inks onto watercolour paper to create the background, building up the layers until I was happy with the result. This background could easily be made using Distress oxides too.

I then stamped the leaf three times on white card stock before heat embossing the with gold. I fussy cut the leaves leaving just a tiny margin of white around the outside.

I tore some vellum into pieces to mount each of the leaves onto. I love the look of torn edges. Once I had glued the leaves onto the vellum, I put a little glue on the back of the vellum only where the leaves were because the glue shows through vellum and can wreck the look. I glued these to the card, starting in the centre.

So, are you going to enter the November mood board challenge? It's such a beautiful board, it seems a shame to miss out! Don't forget you can win a store voucher if you're the winner.
Share your entries here.

Next, I have some very simple Christmas tags for you. So many of the Christmas packs have Ephemera and die cut shapes, and I've used these to make some tags. I cut the tags using a die, and layered greetings and pictures on top, sometimes popping part of the image up with foam tape. Here's a look at the set of tags.

Here are some close ups of the tags. You can see the dimension in the tag below, created by raising the top berries.

This Santa's face made me laugh. He looks completely frazzled and overworked, but he's pressing on!

This tree took the whole tag, and then some, but I like the way it hangs over the edge.

It's always a pleasure to share with you what I've been up to, and I hope you are inspired to get crafty, either with the mood board, or making some Christmas tags.
Until next time, may you enjoy the approaching Christmas season,
Blessings,
