Be You

Good Morning

Today on the blog I am sharing a mixed media canvas that I created using one of the papers from the January Crop Kit.

From the piece of scrapbooking paper I fussy cut the circles, then using dimension tape I created the three layered circles.

To start the canvas I covered it with a layer of gesso creating texture as I went, no that you can actually see it in the finished photo.

The next step is to add even more texture, find a stencil and your texture paste then go.

To add colour to the background I used dylusion sprays white linen and vibrant turquoise and water.

I made sure that I dried the sprays completely and then activate them again with water. While the water was wet I rolled my roll of paper towel over the top to remove some of the colour and create this mottle effect.

Once the canvas was completely dry I drew on my stems and leaves and added the words.

Don't forget to visit Shop and Crop Scrapbooking for all your kit needs and some fantastic bundle deals.
Happy Creating

Happy Birthday to Kylie!!

Hey Hey scrappy friends,

Today is Kylie's (our boss lady!) 50th Birthday and because she is also super generous she is sharing her birthday with us by having a 50% off sale in the store!! How amazing is that!!! Why not stop by and check it out, and while you're there leave Kylie a little Birthday message.

I also wanted to share with you today the layouts that I have created using the January Crop Kit featuring the Penelope Dee Summer Breeze Collection. These layouts are bonus layouts with the kit, and are designed to give you additional inspiration along side the layouts that come with the kit. I come up with three layouts using only the kit contents and a little gesso and paint from my stash, and I am super happy with these beautiful beachy layouts.

I don't believe this kit is available in store yet, but keep an eye out as they are perfect for all those summer photos you've just taken!!

Happy Scrapping!

Big Loves,
Tam xo

Paperific cards

Hello everybody! It's Donna here and I have such a lot to show you today. I had a great time at the Paperific Expo! Can you believe it was that the first time that I met my bosses, Kylie and Darryl! Aren't they lovely? I also got to meet some other members of the Design Team, and watch Deena make some lovely mixed media pieces. Isn't it wonderful that the design team have such different skill sets? I loved learning from her. It was also great to meet some of the subscribers to the kits and blog, so hello to those of you I met there!

One of the things that I got to do at Paperific was play with one of the Shop and Crop Kits, and make cards over the weekend. I ran out of time before I ran out of ideas and paper, but i thought I'd show you what i got up to.
I brought in a little box of goodies to Paperific from home that included things that I thought anybody would have at home, which included glue, scissors, a few sequins and some extra white cardstock to use as card bases. Other than this, all the cards were made using the contents of the kit, with the exception of the blue watercolour background in the card above, which was made by smooshing distress ink onto watercolour paper.
If you have purchased this kit and have some leftovers, I'm sure you'll find some ideas here for your extra pieces.

Many of the cards here were based around the 12" x 12" sticker sheet, as well as one of the papers that could be cut apart to make many of the panels for the cards.

This card also used a little of the Nuvo shimmer mousse from Expo kit 4 which Deena had out on the table. It was too yummy to leave alone.

I love the sentiment on this next card. Isn't this what life should be about? Sometimes it's easier to say than to put into practice though.

This next card has a special story behind it. I had a little friend come and sit at the demo table and chat with me while I made it. She helped choose colours and do little jobs like peeling the backing off the papers while she and I and her mum chatted. So a big hello to Ruby, who is 3-and-a-half, and who is great company.

Some of the cards, like the one below were very quick and easy. This one only needed some thread, and the little tag and sequins, because the Wild and Free panel was so gorgeous that I didn't want to overpower it.

The Shop and Crop Kits aren't just for for Scrapbooking. What else do you use them for? We'd love to see.

The kits are available either as a subscription, which gives you a saving each month, or as a one off, until stocks run out. If you'd like a further saving, just use the code DL5 to give you an extra $5 off. This discount will also work on other products, including the the Distress Oxides ( set 1 ) which are being ordered into the shop at the moment. With your discount code DL5, they will be only $95 for all 12!
Until next time, happy crafting. May your days full of great conversations and your hearts full of what's important!
Feel free to have a peek at my other cards if you are interested.

May Crop Kit layout ideas by Sarah Rosse

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here with you with two layouts using the gorgeous May Crop Kit...and I still have lots of product left to use from the Pinkfresh Studio Live More collection! You may have seen my planner layout using this kit earlier in the month - well even after these layouts, I still have heaps of product to play with from this kit. I just love it and it's so versatile for many types of projects.

I am working on my boy's school / day care albums at the moment and wanted to create some cover pages for them. This first layout is the opening page for 2016, using the Live More patterned papers, foiled die cuts and puffy alphabet stickers. I used some paint on the base of the layout to add some additional layers. This kit can be purchased instore at https://www.shopandcrop.com.au

This second layout again uses patterned paper from the Live More collection. I have applied Dylusions Paints to the edges of the layout and to the page to frame the photos. Colour Blast pastes in Deep Water and Sunshine have been applied through stencils and the puffy alphabet stickers used again here for the title. The gorgeous puffy stars also come with the alphabet stickers.

I hope you enjoyed these layouts and they have inpsired you to use them in your next layouts.

"Epic!' and 'Pinkfresh Planner' layout by Sarah Rosse

Hello crafty friends, Sarah here today with two different layouts using some of the fantastic new products to Shop and Crop Scrapbooking. For this first layout 'Epic!' I used the
Kinder Kreations chipboard for the heading and the Blue Ribbon enamel accents, now available in store. Just one tip if I may...remove your chipboard piece from the wider casing prior to applying the enamel accents. Otherwise it is a little tricky trying to get it out once dry! Lesson learnt.

For this layout, I used the enamel accents to create some shine and dimension for the chipbaord title, I stamped with it using the gorgeous Darkroom Door Arty Triangles collage stamp and drew some free hand circles as background features. The enamel accents seem to be versatile and can be applied for many uses. Whilst the triangles are not seen clearly, I like the effect that the enamel accents has for background stamping.

For embellishments I used some of the emphemera from the Simple Stories So Rad collection. I also used a gelli printed circle I had from another project and the 'Rad' stamp set from Kellie Stamps. Some paint splatters were added to complete the background. The photo was mounted on some patterned paper I had left over from previous projects (dont waste a thing!) - Indigo Skies and the Pinstripes and Petticoats 'Lad Plaid' patterned paper.

For the second layout, I used the May Crop Kit which is available in store NOW. You defintely dont want to miss out on this one! When I saw the gorgeous paperclips in this kit, I just knew I had to created a planner layout.

The base of this planner page is the A5 new horizontal planner kit from Scrapper's Delights. For more info on this, please check out my blog at www.myscrappingspace.wordpress.com. I printed the planner page on to coloured cardstock, then cut and adhered the Pinkfresh 'Live More' patterned papers. I then stamped the dates in black ink using the Echo Park Paper Co Through the Year Calendar stamp. I used the Puffy Alphabet stickers for the days of the week.

The die cuts in the Pinkfresh 'Live More' Crop Kit are foiled and so delightful! I used a number of them to deocrate this planner page, often layering them together to create clusters.

Another alternative to washi tape is using your patterned papers in their place. I just love the XOXO patterned paper and used this across the top of the pages. The paperclips of course just add a little bit of bling and class to the layout.
Thanks for joining me for this post and hope you will indulge yourself in some of the new enamel accents or perhaps the May Crop Kit....go on, you know you want to!
