Hello....

Well i'm back from an exciting retreat which I enjoyed and shared the trip with my gorgeous friend and boss lady here at Shop and Crop Kylie Powell.
We had such an amazing time and cannot wait until the next one!!

Today i'm sharing a layout and a how to do.
My niece started school earlier this year and thought this was perfect way to show off paints etc considering she will be doing painting in class herself.

Step1

Take your Color Blast Shimmer Pot Sunshine. I sprayed water straight into the pot and used a brush to transfer over a piece of white cardstock.

You can find the colour Blast Range here:

Colourblast

Step 2

I then added some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals- Bells of Ireland Green. I so love these.
I have sprinkled some on acetate and sprayed with water. I then dabbed onto the cardstock.

Step3

I then adhered a page from the Tim Holtz Idea Ology.

You can find the Tim Holtz here:

Tim Holtz

Step4

I then used some green Enamel Accent Paint. These small containers are easy to use- just squeeze and move across your page.

Enamel Paints

I painted in with a brush on the Tim Holtz but left the wriggly lines on my background.

Step5

I then used the stickers and arranged them around a chipboard frame from A2ZScraplets.

Here is the final layout:

I hope you have enjoyed my step by step.

Expo Kit 3 - Beautiful

Happy Tuesday, I'm here today to show you a layout created from the Shop and Crop Expo Kit #3.  I'll also be including a Step by Step of how I went about putting this layout together.

Firstly here's my layout:

And a couple of close-ups.

I hope you find the Step by Step useful.

Take some texture paste and mix some of the Colour Shimmer Watercolour Cube.  Transfer to some plastic packaging and smooch across the page of your thick media cardstock.

Mix and acrylic paint colour of your chose with water in a spray bottle.  Spray across the dried texture paste area that you’ve already put on the page.

Cut two pieces of the Crate Paper Vellum on the diagonal as seen on the top and the bottom of the layout.  I used some vellum tape to adhere.

From the hessian/burlap pull four long strings and adhere to the diagonal shape vellum.

Punch ten vellum heart shapes (if you don’t have a punch you can cut free hand).  Place two together and use a stapler or tiny attacher to staple in the centre lengthwise.  These will end up being little butterflies for your layout.

Use the Colour Shimmer Watercolour Cube to colour your chipboard frame and two of the smaller heart pieces that are joined together.  Cut a piece of vellum to fit behind the frame and adhere.

Use gesso or white acrylic paint to colour the title word, I used a couple of coats.

Layer your photo onto a piece of the vellum then apply mounting foam tape before adhering to the hessian/burlap.

On the die-cut butterfly apply watered down Colour Shimmer Watercolour Cube to the centre near the body and on the tips of wings.  Adhere as shown.

Now adhere the frame, with the title word sitting on top of it, next to the photo.

Adhere your heart butterflies using a glue dot and then draw feelers to resemble butterflies.

I hope you enjoy the kit and you’ll be able to make another layout with the pieces leftover – just grab another piece of cardstock from your stash.

Now for my second layout with some Pink Paislee Oh My Heart Paper and Sticker Pack.

I fussy cut a bunch of flowers from the patterned paper, used some water colour paints on the left hand side of the layout and then splattered two of the watercolours across the page.  I cut a frame from a piece of cardstock and placed it over the top of the painted white cardstock.
I also used some of the rose gold stickers, numbers and alphas from the sticker pack.  Finally I roughly stitched around the cardstock frame.

Bowl of Dreams

Hello everybody. It's Donna here today, and I've got a couple of ideas for the papers in the gorgeous August Cropaholic Kit. If you haven't subscribed to this kit before, this is the month to start. So much fabulousness in a box. So, once I could finally bring myself to cut the paper, here's a couple of card projects that use some of the kit. You can expect to see a LOT more of this beautiful kit from me!

First up, I created a cute little shaker card that highlights the wood veneer shapes that come with this month's kit. I also added some sequins to each little pocket. I used the B side of two different papers so that the card wouldn't be too busy, and added a sentiment through the middle. A couple of the cute little puffy stickers from the many in the kit completed the card.

Here are a couple of closeups of all the sweet little elements.

Have you had a look at this month's challenge? This month we have a Tic Tac Toe challenge. Have a look at the squares, and choose three in a row to incorporate into your project, horizontal, vertical or diagonal. As an example, I've chosen the middle line horizontally, using Stencil, Cardstock, and Ink.

I have also used some of the ephemera from the August Cropaholic kit to make this card to play along with the challenge. I have a striped stencil in my stash, and I used this, using ink to colour the embossing paste to match the blue flowers in the basket of the bike.

A little bit of glossy accents made the bike seat and handlebars stand out, and tied them in with the shine on the puffy stickers.

Have a go, and then upload a picture of your project in the gallery on the Inside Inspiration page to win a gift certificate from the Shop and Crop store. We'd love to see what you create!

If you have enjoyed these cards, and would like to see more of my work, feel free to visit my Instagram page, where you can find lots more cards.

Don't forget, you can save $5 at the Shop and Crop Store using the code DL5. Why not subscribe to the Cropaholic Kit, which will cost less than a cup of coffee a day, and take advantage of the $5 off.
Until next time, happy crafting, and may your days be full of sunshine.
