One design, two ways - By Tamara Buckler

Hi All,

As we watch all the new product releases coming out from Creativation, I am on a bit of a kick to use more of what I have to make room for more new products. I guess you could call it a stash bust! I love working with different ranges, and making them come together. And I also love scrapping in different sizes, and this is what I am here to share with you today - taking one layout design and making it work for two different size layouts.

The first layout that I am sharing with you is a traditional 12x12 using the Kaisercraft Christmas range called 'Mint Wishes' and the We 'R' Memory Keepers 'High Five' collection. The design is based around this diagonal line between the two papers and I love the contrast between them.

The floral elements are fussy cut from the Kaisercraft range, and do a great job of softening the lines between the two papers. Quite a few of the embellishments on this page are from Cocoa Vanilla, including the large frame tucked behind the right of the photo.

Most of the alphas used are also from Cocoa Vanilla, combining stickers with Die Cuts is a great way to use up bits and pieces while adding extra interest.

The second page I'm sharing with you today is a 8.5 x 11 page and is using the same basic design element as the first page, in that it has the diagonal line and contrasting papers. The papers used here are from Maggie Holmes 'Chasing Dreams' and Cocoa Vanilla 'Wild at Heart' collections.

I have used a number of Die Cuts from Cocoa Vanilla to again soften the line between the two papers, this time the scale of the embellishments are a little smaller to suit the smaller page size. The frame behind the photo is also from Cocoa Vanilla, and I have DIY'd a frame from some Pink Fresh Studio paper that I have been hoarding (the little birds are also fussy cut from this paper). These frames are flat, rather than the thicker frame on the first layout, so as to not add too much weight to the page.

Again I mixed the alphas for interest and used up some puffy stickers in my stash. I added in some old chipboard from my stash also.

I love the way these layouts turned out, and I hope I have shown how you can use one design, two ways.

Have a great day, scrappy friends!

Happy Birthday to Kylie!!

Hey Hey scrappy friends,

Today is Kylie's (our boss lady!) 50th Birthday and because she is also super generous she is sharing her birthday with us by having a 50% off sale in the store!! How amazing is that!!! Why not stop by and check it out, and while you're there leave Kylie a little Birthday message.

I also wanted to share with you today the layouts that I have created using the January Crop Kit featuring the Penelope Dee Summer Breeze Collection. These layouts are bonus layouts with the kit, and are designed to give you additional inspiration along side the layouts that come with the kit. I come up with three layouts using only the kit contents and a little gesso and paint from my stash, and I am super happy with these beautiful beachy layouts.

I don't believe this kit is available in store yet, but keep an eye out as they are perfect for all those summer photos you've just taken!!

Happy Scrapping!

I {heart} Maggie Holmes Carousel by Tamara Buckler

Hi there scrappy friends,

Tamara here today to share with you my last couple of layouts for 2017! Gosh, this year has flown by! I'm not sure if you managed to get your hands on the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes Carousel Collection Bundle when Kylie had it in the shop, but I did and I am in love!! This collection is so fun and playful, and the colours are divine!

The first layout that I am sharing today is just a silly photo of my unicorn-loving Little Miss. The background paper is from the Carousel paper pad, and I applied some Gesso to this using a store card. Once this was dry I added some Dylusions paints in Vibrant Turquoise and Rose Quartz using the packaging technique and lots of water.

I layered up some other papers from the paper pad behind my photo, and then built my clusters to the left and right. On the right hand side I used a heap of tags, frames and tickets from the ephemera to create some layers, and used the 'delightful day' banner as a resting place for the enamel unicorn which was my main focus for this cluster. I added some puffy stars and hearts to finish of the cluster.

The second cluster to the left of the photo got much of the same treatment, as well as some added chipboard elements.

To finish off the layout I built my title. It says 'Be the Unicorn in the field of Horses' - which I think is a great sentiment around being our crazy selves. I finished off this page my splattering Heidi Swapp Colourshine and Dylusions Ink all over the place.

The second layout I'm sharing with you today is using the same collection, as well as one other sheet of paper from the Maggie Holmes Chasing Dreams collection. This layout is from my nieces 21st birthday party, so really worked with the fun, celebratory themes of the Carousel collection.

I started this layout with some plain white cardstock from Kaisercraft, and used the Chasing Dreams paper on the bottom third of the page. The photo is matted with a couple of pieces from the Carousel paper pad. The embellishments are a mixture of ephemera and chipboard from the Carousel Collection.

The 'YAY' that I have used for the title comes from the ephemera pack, and tears apart like tickets, so I distressed the edges to accentuate this and used foam tape to lift them off the page.

This page was also finished off with some Gold Stars from the ephemera pack and some gold Heidi Swapp Colourshine.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my layouts today. I hope you have a lovely Christmas with those you hold dear. Catch you in the New Year!

Big loves

'It's a wonderful life' & 'Awesome Crazy Kid' by Tamara Buckler

Good Morning all and happy Monday!

I am up on the blog today to share with you the latest couple of layouts I have created with the We R Memory Keepers High Five Bundle. I seriously cant get enough of this kit, every time I sit down to work with it, things come together so easily! And the texture of the papers are just so lovely!

The first layout I have to share features one of the cards from the cut apart sheet. These are fabulous to make a title for your layout with very little fuss! My eldest daughter just went on her year 6 camp to Sydney, and I thought this card very appropriate, because she just had the best time!

To create this layout, I cut the photo and the card from the 'Awesome' paper to the same size, and then matted them both on one single piece of the 'Bullseye' paper, and then centred this one a 8.5x11.5 piece of the 'Vintage' paper. I love the contrast that this gives, it really makes the card and the photo pop.

I didn't really need to do too much embellishing after this point, but added 'Sydney 2017' from the Thickers that came in the kit. Love a black and white Thicker!

I then added a couple of stickers and a flair button to finish the page off. I think I will come back and add some sewing around the card, but hubby was asleep by the time I finished the page, and I didn't think he'd appreciate the sewing machine going :)

My second layout for today is a 12x12 using the same range, and also features my older daughter, this time climbing trees and being a bit silly with her mates at the beach. I often give my phone to the kids when they are playing like this, and I get the best scrapbooking material when I get it back!

This time I used the 'Bullseye' paper for the background, which I was able to do as this kit very awesomely has 2 of each paper included! I then matted a piece of the 'White Wash' paper to the bottom half of the page, and machine sewed around the edge.

I matted my photo on the leftover piece of the 'Bullseye' paper from my last layout, the opposite side this time, and then built up a cluster to the bottom right hand side using a sticker tab, a frame and flower from the ephemera pack and a flair button. I used a roller stamp from my stash to pop the date on the tab.

I did a similar cluster to the top left of the White Wash paper, this time using a couple of stickers and flair button.

To create my title I used more of the stickers, I ran another line of machine stitching through the 'Awesome' sticker, and added some more of the Thickers.

I'm super happy with these layouts, like I said, they came together so easily! I have a feeling you'll be seeing a little bit more of this range from me before I'm done!

Hope you have a great week,

Big Loves,
Tam x

Some OTP fun by Tamara Buckler

Hello again friends,

Well its been a huge few weeks for my little family, as we have moved into our brand new home! This has not been without teething problems, we've had no internet and I've had no where to scrap, plus not a lot of time up my sleeve, but we are past these little speed humps and I expect to be back sharing a lot more with you all now!

I am lucky enough to have a dedicated scrap space in my new home, as well as custom made desk. These are still a work in progress, but I felt the urge to make some OTP projects that can help me store things in this space.

As part of the 'reflection' challenge this month, I decided to redo a little MDF shelving unit I had already done. It was previously covered in Kaisercraft paper and some Dylusions paints, however it didn't match my new colour scheme. I was very grateful to have the We R Memory Keepers 'High Five' collection bundle to work with, and re-did the unit by painting over the previous look with Black Dylusions Paint, and then using the 'Brave' paper from the collection to cover the sides, and the 'Lunar' paper to cover the shelves. I used Modge Podge to adhere the paper to the unit, and then again over the top to seal the paper. I then added some stickers and ephemera from the kit for a little extra interest.

The second project I did was a desk caddy, and I used the much the same techniques and papers as the first project. I did start by priming the caddy with Gesso, and this made the paint soak in a little less and the paper adhere a little better.

I have now loaded up these two little storage units with all my goodies, and have set them up in my desk space, I love the way they look and how practical they are.

Here's a little sneak peak of my scrap space, I still need to add some extra storage to the walls, including some cork tiles to make a notice board, and some frames to display my pages.

Thanks for stopping by today! Cant wait to share with you all again soon.

Big Loves,
Tam x
