Be You

Good Morning

Today on the blog I am sharing a mixed media canvas that I created using one of the papers from the January Crop Kit.

From the piece of scrapbooking paper I fussy cut the circles, then using dimension tape I created the three layered circles.

To start the canvas I covered it with a layer of gesso creating texture as I went, no that you can actually see it in the finished photo.

The next step is to add even more texture, find a stencil and your texture paste then go.

To add colour to the background I used dylusion sprays white linen and vibrant turquoise and water.

I made sure that I dried the sprays completely and then activate them again with water. While the water was wet I rolled my roll of paper towel over the top to remove some of the colour and create this mottle effect.

Once the canvas was completely dry I drew on my stems and leaves and added the words.

Don't forget to visit Shop and Crop Scrapbooking for all your kit needs and some fantastic bundle deals.
Happy Creating

New Card Kit!

Hello everybody! I’m so excited that Shop and Crop now has a card kit to add to the other fabulous kits. You can buy the kit as a one off, or get a subscription and get a discounted kit every month. (Next month's kit is already looking fabulous)
If you use the code DL5 when you order, you can get $5 off the purchase price.

I’ve been making cards with the kit and getting the instructions all done. Here’s a sneak peek of a couple of the cards that you’ll be able to make with the kit.

For today’s blog post I’ve also used the kit. Even after making 12 cards, I have so much beautiful paper left over, and I’ve barely made a dent in the Ephemera pack that was jam packed with Christmas goodies, so I'm going to keep going!

The only difference is that today's cards also use things from my stash at home. All the instructions for the kit cards use only what comes in the kit, so you don't need any special supplies.

Firstly, I used my watercolours to make this night sky background. I love Christmas cards with non traditional colours, and even though it doesn't snow in Australia, I think this would be the perfect card for my friend in England. The two snowflakes come from the Ephemera that was in the card kit, and so does the Merry Christmas sticker, which I mounted up on dimensional tape.

For this next card, I used a stamp that I had in my stash, and embossed the trees in gold.  I also used some gold paint to spatter the background. Some sequins from the kit and another of these great stickers completed the card.

I'm so excited about the release of the card kit, and I hope that lots of people take it up, and use it as an opportunity to get all their Christmas cards done. I've tried to include both different techniques as well as some ideas for quick and easy cards that can be mass produced. I don't know about you, but I always need lots of cards at Christmas. Making cards with the kit has got me off to a great start!

So, until next time, may your days be crafty, and your nights too!

Blessings,

'You are so sweet' By Elisa Ablett

Hi Everyone,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest layouts for Shop and Crop Scrapbooking featuring the March 2017 Cropaholic Kit and items from my stash!

Here is the awesome contents of the March Cropaholic Kit featuring Pink Paislee's Oh My Heart Collection.

These are the two layouts that my fellow design team member Anita created with the kit back in March...

NOW! lets see what I created with the kit, different styles and different layouts out of the one kit with loads left over!

Here is my first layout title - You are so Sweet.

I made use of the awesome 12 x 12 cut files that came with the paper pad in the kit. I used it as an overlay on my background paper.

AND my second layout is titled - Love

Its amazing how papers and embellishments can be given a face lift with extra items from your stash to create a great mixed media boy layout from a predominately girl themed kit.

This layout also features a hand made Charms Creation embellishment heart, dina wakely paint in Ocean, a distress paint in peeled paint and swiss cross wood veneer from D-lish Scraps.

Well that's it from me today, I hope you have enjoyed seeing the different layouts you can create with just the one kit from Shop and Crop!!

If you would like to purchase any items from the online store https://www.shopandcrop.com.au/collections

Make sure you use the code EA5 to receive your discount at the checkout.

Hugs xx
