More fun with the Cropaholic Kit

Hi there!

Tania joining you today to share a layout and some cards using some left overs from the Cropaholic Kit that I received earlier this month!  The kit was so jam packed with goodies I still have lots left over even after making these projects!

First up is my layout to share!

The envy Colour Blast I used on the background was included in the kit and I then added some Royalty Colour Blast from my stash, which can be found here in the Shop and Crop Store.
I wanted to give the page a little extra shimmer so I added some Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distress Spray, so vibrant on the black background, don't you agree??  I have used several of the 6 x 4 photo cards from the Flutterby "FLAWsome" collection included in the kit and layered them up under my photo....... I finished of the page by adding some flowers from my stash a chipboard title and some Kaisercraft Lucky Dip Wooden Clogs, I altered them using some Kaiser Mist.

Here's some close ups of my page!

I decided to make some cards too, as the 6 x 4 photo cards were perfect for these cards!  I did use whole photo cards for my backgrounds, but lots of the scrap pieces I had left over included on the card fronts can build up some layers!  I finished the cards be adding some flowers, chipboard and  Kaiser Happy Birthday Stickers

Well that's all from me today!  Be sure to pop over to the Shop and Crop store and check out the amazing kits we have on offer, always something different each month!  Also don't forget there's still time to join in our monthly challenge!  All about refelctions - share a favourite page or technique, how easy is that, there is a voucher to spend it store up for grabs!  If you are popping over to the store for a little shopping remember to use the code TR5 to get yourself $5 off your purchase :)

Until next time Tania xx

Lilac Whisper Collection - KaiserCraft

Hello All, its Deena with you on the blog today.

I always love receiving my design team parcel because I never know what's inside, Kylie keeps us all on our toes. One of the bags inside my box held papers and collectables from the KaiserCraft range - Lilac Whisper. It's such a pretty range. Also in the bag was a distress spray stain - milled lavender and paper flowers - coconut.

When I first say this piece of paper I knew that I needed to enhance the shapes in that top corner and make the card a simple one.

The paper that is cut in a circle is the other side of the paper above, how gorgeous are both sides, hard to choose which one to use. The background of this card was created by spraying my mat with the distress stain then stamping my acrylic block into it and smooshing it onto my cardstock, I didn't think the colour was quite right so I used a little bit of watered down gesso and used the same method. I made sure that I dried in between the two layers of wet medium although I probably didn't need to.

For this card I used the lilac whisper cardstock and one of the collectables and the distress spray stain but I also used some yummy iridescent creative medium from imagine crafts, and a Scrap Fx stencil - Ripple.

For the next couple of cards I really dipped into the mixed media supplies that are sold in the shop.

I have to confess when I first received my scribble sticks and played with them I did not like them at all, but this time I gave them more of a chance and created this vibrant background using magenta and blackberry.
To create the two backgrounds I first laid a layer of gesso on my cardstock and while it was still wet I stamped into it with my textured script stamp (has to be one of my favourite stamps I used it on almost everything I create). I them dried my gesso, you really couldn't see the impression of the stamp but once I add the scribble sticks it came to life.
For I little trick that I used - scribble sticks are not permanent, they move with water even after they are dry, so I careful and gentle added a layer of matte medium over the top and now I can add anything I like over the top because the colour is not going to reactivate.
My last step was to add texture with my modeling paste and stencil.

Once my texture paste was dry I scribbled night over the top of the paste which I activate with water. Once dry I them added a layer of white gesso over the top using a dry brush. Again using my script stamp I stamp the image in black ink. The next layer was my chipboard which I heat embossed and them added the butterflies from the collectables.

Here is a close up of the card.

Happy Creating

Let them Eat Cake

Hello
Its Deena here with you today

First I would like to share with you a layout I created using the My Mind's Eye paper collection Hooray.

This is a photo of my daughter's first birthday and back then she loved cake, can you tell by her face. She is now 9 and is not really a great lover of it now.

Here are some close ups for you

Please find a list of the products that can be found in the Shop.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray,
TCW - Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste.

For my next share I created an art journal page. The products from the Shop that I used are Chartreuse Iridescent Creative Medium,
Colour Blast Shimmer Pot Water Colours - Snow White and Royalty,
Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals Freaky Franken-Lime and Witch's Potion Purple,
Dusty Attic Stencil - Circuit,
Tim Holtz Collection Layering Stencil - Stripes
Archival Ink - Jet Black

Below are some close ups to show more of the details

This is actual what my original background looked like before I went to town on it.

The amount of shimmer that the creative medium creates is just gorgeous, I applied it quite thick in some places so that I could create the circle indents with a cardboard tube, which I them coloured with the Magical - Witch's Potion Purple.

This is my favourite spot on the whole of my journal page.
