December Cropaholic Kit - Using the stunning Kaisercraft Wandering Ivy........

Hello there.......

Tania joining you today with my last post for this year, that's a scary thought and to think Christmas is only a few days away, that is exciting though :)
So today I wanted to share with you some layouts I created for our December Cropaholic Kit using the stunning Kaisercraft "Wandering Ivy" Collection, I have to say this is my new favourite collection from Kaisercraft, just love the beautiful tones of Blue and Green, what do you think??  So much jam packed in this kit, I made these three layouts and still had so much left over.

For the first layout the used the gorgeous specialty paper as my base, and played with some of the chipboard and the mist which is in the kit to create a little bit of extra texture on the background!
If you like fussy cutting this kit is just perfect two as there is lots of gorgeous flowers to cut from the patterned papers, which you can see here on the layout below.

A few close ups........

I continued with the theme of adding a little mixed media to this layout too but just used the mist by itself this time.  I also added more fussy cut flowers and some of the gorgeous wood veneers that came in the kit.

More close ups.......

For the last page I added lots of the silver Rhinestone strip bling - who doesn't love a bit of bling?  I added lots more fussy cut flowers to the page too as it just finishes them off perfectly!!

A couple more close ups......

Well that's all from me today.  Be sure to pop over to the store here and check out this amazing kit and all the awesome goodies that comes in it, this one comes with instructions to make all three layouts.  You can also check out all the other fabulous kits and products on offer, you won't be disappointed!
Also don't forget there's still time to enter out challenge for this month - "Show us your Christmas Craft"  a $30 store voucher for the winner.........

Until next time,  a ver Merry Christmas to you all and safe and happy New Year, hope you all get very spoilt with lots of crafty goodness, hope I do lol.

Mixed Media Fun!!

Hello There! How is your week going? I hope things are going well for you!

As the blog title suggests, I am creating with some MIXED MEDIA PRODUCTS you can find HERE!!!  There are Sprays and Dusts and Glazes!! So many products to choose from!!

Today I have been playing with some Lindys Stamp Gang Magicals and the color I had was Screamin Banshee black!! Which is part of this set which you can find in the shop HERE!!!!!

I prepped my page with gesso and when that was dry I added torn book paper and random die cuts and plasterers tape..

I then sprinkled the Magical powder very sparingly with a paint brush where I wanted some color to come.

Then I sprayed some water and watched the magic happen!!

I added more sprays of water and tilted my paper from side to side to make some drips.. I added more Magical powder to made some deep color in places..

I allowed it to dry overnight and the next day it had a wonderful sheen!!

Then I added my photo and embellishments. I had another product to try and it was ENAMEL ACCENTS in the store HERE!!! and these come in an amazing array of gorgeous colors...  I had the Blue Ribbon color which is such a fresh blue..

I added some Blue Fern chipboard which I painted with black gesso around my page as well as die cutting a frame.

I decided to use the Enamel Accents to add some dots for extra color and dimension...

I love the added interest the bright pops of blue add to my chipboard..

The dots stayed lovely and plump and raised... I love the look of them!!!

and my completed page..

Dream..
What creative fun you can have with Lindys Magicals and Enamel Accents...  Check them out in the store Magicals... Here.... and Enamel Accents ...Here...
Other products I used on my layout from my own supplies was the Chipboard, die cuts, plasterers tape, Dusty Attic flowers, cardstock and Kaisercraft words..

The second layout I would like to share with you was created using a little pot of color from COLOR BLAST which you have to add water to and mix to activate the color... The color I received was a pretty green called Envy..

I decided to try using a thick paint brush and make sweeping strokes across my page making the color go from a lighter shade to a darker shade by going over the place I wanted it darker over and over.. I really like how the paint went on my page, I did not use gesso and the color just sat on the cardstock..

some closer views..

The top of my page with the paint lightly sweeping across the page..

The bottom of the page where I intensified the color.. A simple little bit of stencilling to add some texture..
and my layout.

Memories..
This was the first time I have used the Color Blast Shimmer pot and I must say I love the way it goes on the cardstock and it leaves such a pretty sheen too... Simply leave the lid off for the pot to air dry and once dry then pop the lid back on and it will be ready to be charged up for the next time...
Other supplies I have used for this layout include white cardstock, Kaisercraft Papers Wildflower collection, memory box die, Heidi Swapp stencil, modeling paste.  Color Blast have an amazing range of products which you can check out in the Store HERE!!!

Thank you for coming by and I hope you enjoyed viewing my layouts as much as I enjoyed creating them... Remember to pop  the code LC5 for your discount on your order from the SHOP!!!!

Until next time,
Happy creating!

Magical See Through Card and June Challenge

Hello everybody! It's Donna here, and I'm very happy to be sharing two projects with you today.

This month, I had the excitement of playing with some of the mixed media products that are for sale in the Shop and Crop store. I have made a card project that features two of these products: Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Powders ( I had 'hag's wart orange' to play with) and Stāzon Studio Glaze (The colour I had was 'St Valentine')
I have made a card to showcase these products. I loved how they both behaved, but was particularly enamoured with the Magical Powder. The colour was so vibrant that I used the tip of a pin to apply as little as was needed. I think it will last forever! Just look at the beautiful variation of colour that I got from just the one colour (Yes, that is one colour only on the watercolour panels!)

Here's what I discovered:
  • Studio Glaze - This product goes on opaque, but dries transparent. It worked well on both paper and acetate. It made beautiful circles, which could be made on plastic and then peeled off and applied to projects with a little glue. It would also be perfect for stained glass projects or elements.
  • Magical Powders - This powder was a treat to play with. There are so many colours in the one pot, that they give a wonderful variation, as seen in the card I made. By adding more water and mixing more, I could have also made a much more uniform colour. The powder has a subtle but gorgeous shimmer to it that was almost impossible to catch on camera. You can see it a little in the top left of the picture above.
Don't forget that you can get $5 off your order at Shop and Crop with the code DL5, so this might be a good opportunity to pick up some of these products to play with.

This card was made in sections which I stuck together once they were all dry.
If you're interested to see how I made the card, there is a video up on the Shop and Crop Youtube channel that takes you through the steps.

See the video here

Now, onto the next adventure....

Isn't this month's Shop and Crop challenge gorgeous? I've really enjoyed working with this sketch to produce a card.

As you can see, I have reversed the sketch, and changed the dimensions to fit a card, but I loved the whimsical and flowing nature of the sketch, and have tried to represent this in my take on the challenge. I've used stamping, die cuts, hand coloured paper, gold and white embossing, and some paint spatters for good measure. Are you planning to enter this month? I encourage you to have a go. Just upload a photo of your finished project in Shop and Crop's "Inside Inspiration" Facebook page.

Here's a close up of some of the detail.

If you have enjoyed these cards, and would like to see more of my work, feel free to visit my Instagram page.

Until next time, happy crafting.

Let them Eat Cake

Hello
Its Deena here with you today

First I would like to share with you a layout I created using the My Mind's Eye paper collection Hooray.

This is a photo of my daughter's first birthday and back then she loved cake, can you tell by her face. She is now 9 and is not really a great lover of it now.

Here are some close ups for you

Please find a list of the products that can be found in the Shop.
My Mind's Eye - Hooray,
TCW - Light & Fluffy Modeling Paste.

For my next share I created an art journal page. The products from the Shop that I used are Chartreuse Iridescent Creative Medium,
Colour Blast Shimmer Pot Water Colours - Snow White and Royalty,
Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals Freaky Franken-Lime and Witch's Potion Purple,
Dusty Attic Stencil - Circuit,
Tim Holtz Collection Layering Stencil - Stripes
Archival Ink - Jet Black

Below are some close ups to show more of the details

This is actual what my original background looked like before I went to town on it.

The amount of shimmer that the creative medium creates is just gorgeous, I applied it quite thick in some places so that I could create the circle indents with a cardboard tube, which I them coloured with the Magical - Witch's Potion Purple.

This is my favourite spot on the whole of my journal page.

If you see any product you would like to purchase please follow the link to the Shop and don't forget to use the code DO5 to get a discount on your purchase.

Happy Creating

'Game On' by Sarah Rosse

Good morning all, Sarah here with another layout using the So Rad collection by Simple Stories. For this layout I used a piece of the 100lb heavyweight cardstock, available in store and stitched it onto the background of a piece of patterned paper from the So Rad collection. Using a stencil from my stash, I sprayed Lindy's Stamp Gang spray in T-Bird Turquoise to create the background. The turquoise matched some of the colours in the patterned paper, so was ideal!

This photo is of my nephew and son playing a car game on the xbox. The photo was snapped by my mum when she last bought my newphew to visit our new home. I like the perspective of the back of their heads - shows the intensity of the game they were playing (they were too busy to look around at the camera perhaps).

The rest of this layout was embellished using cut aparts pieces, die cuts and stickers from the So Rad collection. The photo is matted on a printed acetate piece that came with the collection. I just love the colours in it and how the background can still be seen through parts of the photo mat. The game controllers are so cute! The black one was a die cut and the white one I cut out from a piece of the paper in the collection. The stickers were from the So Rad sticker sheet and just finished off the layout perfectly - It even has some of the strange sayings my son comes out with like "sup bro?" and "gamer for LYF".
Here are some close up shots;

Thanks again for popping by to check out my layout....I just love the So Rad collection and I'm sure you will too! Check it out in store at www.shopandcrop.com.au. Until next time....

Shop and Crop leftover layout!!!

Good morning, Rikki here for the Shop and Crop today, and today is all about stash busting and how to use some of your older products with some new ones...... this is something I like to do from time to time, it works really well when your trying to be good and not spend.

Also its great because I have a tray on my desk which I keep some odds and ends like some bits left over from the Shop and Crop kits. So if your like me this is the layout for you.

I was given the Lindy's Stamp Gang - Little Lindy - Try Me Set - Tiffany's Blue set to try and as the months have gotten away from me I forgot about them , but I remember and they are really easy to use, I laid down my gold mist first allowed that to dry and then misted water directly on the page.... where I wanted the blue to go.

The Lindy's Stamp Gang powders are great to sprinkle directly onto the mist water , just sprinkle and your done.....

Dont forget to use your stencils, just trace around some objects with a lead pencil to add interest on your background, even scribble a circle before you stick your layers down.

Washi tape is another great thing to have handy, a simple grid really works on a plain background.

Another handy hint is keep your pizza box that your kits /orders come in you can cut up the card and use them in between your layers to give yourself some dimension....
