Some OTP fun by Tamara Buckler

Hello again friends,

Well its been a huge few weeks for my little family, as we have moved into our brand new home! This has not been without teething problems, we've had no internet and I've had no where to scrap, plus not a lot of time up my sleeve, but we are past these little speed humps and I expect to be back sharing a lot more with you all now!

I am lucky enough to have a dedicated scrap space in my new home, as well as custom made desk. These are still a work in progress, but I felt the urge to make some OTP projects that can help me store things in this space.

As part of the 'reflection' challenge this month, I decided to redo a little MDF shelving unit I had already done. It was previously covered in Kaisercraft paper and some Dylusions paints, however it didn't match my new colour scheme. I was very grateful to have the We R Memory Keepers 'High Five' collection bundle to work with, and re-did the unit by painting over the previous look with Black Dylusions Paint, and then using the 'Brave' paper from the collection to cover the sides, and the 'Lunar' paper to cover the shelves. I used Modge Podge to adhere the paper to the unit, and then again over the top to seal the paper. I then added some stickers and ephemera from the kit for a little extra interest.

The second project I did was a desk caddy, and I used the much the same techniques and papers as the first project. I did start by priming the caddy with Gesso, and this made the paint soak in a little less and the paper adhere a little better.

I have now loaded up these two little storage units with all my goodies, and have set them up in my desk space, I love the way they look and how practical they are.

Here's a little sneak peak of my scrap space, I still need to add some extra storage to the walls, including some cork tiles to make a notice board, and some frames to display my pages.

Thanks for stopping by today! Cant wait to share with you all again soon.

Big Loves,
Tam x

Blossum, Bloom, Grow

Hello, Deena here with you today.

Last months mixed media kit was designed by the super talented Fiona Paltridge, and I got to play with it. Included in the kit were the Faber-Castell colour fizz tablets. There are four different colours to play with but I only used three. I do still have some of each colour left to play with at another time.

Normally I would gesso my canvas before I start, but this time I didn't. Using my versamark (not in kit) I stamped the gorgeous prima floral stamp onto my canvas. Using white embossing powder (not included) I created a resist on the canvas.

Close up view of the embossing as it is a little hard to see in the photo above, white on white is not great until you add colour then it comes alive.

I wet my canvas lightly and then placed the fizz tablet on to the canvas. I decided that it was better to put it on my messy mat and keep it wet that way and use a paint brush to add the colour.

This is the dried canvas, I put down a layer of colour and dried it with my heat gun. Once dried to add a little interest to the back ground using my brush I splash some colour.

Using the two smaller stamps and the cardstock provided I stamped the images and then again heat embossed with white.

Close up view of some of the dried flowers.

This next step is once of my favourite techniques. Fussy cutting, I find it really relaxing.

Once I finished fussy cutting I arranged my flowers onto the back ground and added the three words included in the kit.

More fun with the Cropaholic Kit

Hi there!

Tania joining you today to share a layout and some cards using some left overs from the Cropaholic Kit that I received earlier this month!  The kit was so jam packed with goodies I still have lots left over even after making these projects!

First up is my layout to share!

The envy Colour Blast I used on the background was included in the kit and I then added some Royalty Colour Blast from my stash, which can be found here in the Shop and Crop Store.
I wanted to give the page a little extra shimmer so I added some Tim Holtz Tarnished Brass Distress Spray, so vibrant on the black background, don't you agree??  I have used several of the 6 x 4 photo cards from the Flutterby "FLAWsome" collection included in the kit and layered them up under my photo....... I finished of the page by adding some flowers from my stash a chipboard title and some Kaisercraft Lucky Dip Wooden Clogs, I altered them using some Kaiser Mist.

Here's some close ups of my page!

I decided to make some cards too, as the 6 x 4 photo cards were perfect for these cards!  I did use whole photo cards for my backgrounds, but lots of the scrap pieces I had left over included on the card fronts can build up some layers!  I finished the cards be adding some flowers, chipboard and  Kaiser Happy Birthday Stickers

Well that's all from me today!  Be sure to pop over to the Shop and Crop store and check out the amazing kits we have on offer, always something different each month!  Also don't forget there's still time to join in our monthly challenge!  All about refelctions - share a favourite page or technique, how easy is that, there is a voucher to spend it store up for grabs!  If you are popping over to the store for a little shopping remember to use the code TR5 to get yourself $5 off your purchase :)

Until next time Tania xx

Hellooo....

Today i'm going to show you that you don't have to have die cut machines to produce die cuts for your scrapbooking pages.
I like to be self sufficient and make my own.

First I took some cardstock and hand drew a design.
I then cut out certain areas with a kraft knife.

Mine was very simple.
You can do whatever designs you like or create a unique one of your own that nobody else has seen!!!

This is the layout I used my die cut on:

I have used prima papers for my layout, but any papers would suit.
You can find in the shop here:

Here is a couple of close ups:

Soak up the Sun

I am a lucky subscriber to get the monthly crop kits every month. I love them!!!
You get new products with kit instructions for 2 layouts and maybe a bonus extra.
So I thought I would show my layouts that I created with the August kit.

There is still some to buy in the shop here:

Aug Crop Kit

Here is a couple of close ups:

For my background I have used some Lindy's Stamp Gang shakers.
Yummmmmmmmm.....

They are so easy to use and add colour to your layouts.

I have sprinkled the yellow colou on my cardstock and then sprayed with water and allowed to dry.

You can grab your Shakers here:

The only things I have added to my layouts are a couple of buttons.

Here is a few close ups:

well I hope you have been inspired and ready to scrap !!!
